Abstract:

The Post-Apollo Press records include correspondence, administrative records, materials related to Etel Adnan, and project files. Correspondence is incoming and outgoing, personal and professional; correspondents include bookstores, distributors, other publishers, and writers. There are also some board minutes from the San Francisco Poetry Center. Original folder titles were retained, and most correspondence is sorted chronologically within folders. A few correspondents have their own files, but letters from them may appear in other folders. Administrative records are arranged roughly chronologically and include ads; address books; book reviews; catalogs; financial records; marketing, publicity and event files; and materials regarding the Women's Presses Library Project. There is an interview with Fattal and several folders of short stories she wrote in, or translated from, Arabic. Materials on Adnan relate to Sitt Marie Rose and other works, and include correspondence, financial records, publicity, interviews with and articles about her, invitations, materials about an homage to her, and project files. Project files on other authors are organized by book title and include manuscripts, correspondence, financial records, reviews, proofs, and galleys. Writers represented include Anne Marie Albiach, Marguerite Duras, Barbara Guest, Lyn Hejinian, Emmanuel Hocquard, Georgina Kleege, Joanne Kyger, Leslie Scalapino, Cole Swenson, Anne Waldman, and Rosemary Waldrop. There are also files related to Fattal's translation of a book on Rumi and Sufism. There is a small amount of material in Arabic and French.
